Visitor FAQs

What to Expect

A visitor can expect to be warmly greeted upon entering. Between Sunday School and worship, our congregation gathers in the lobby area, where they fellowship and enjoy coffee and snacks. Although we have greeters, visitors would have the opportunity to meet a variety of our members.

Toward the end of our fellowship time, we begin the piano prelude, which provides those who wish the opportunity to come into the sanctuary to prepare their hearts and minds for worship. Though we follow a Reformed liturgy, our worship is interactive and warm. At the end of worship, there is ample opportunity to mingle and fellowship more.

Our pastor and elders would enjoy nothing more than to engage with visitors who have questions about our church, the gospel, and why we do things the way we do. While all of our officers are available to speak with you, the best way to reach our pastor is through the contact page on our website.

Our Worship

Our heart’s desire is to honor God in our worship. As we do, we also seek to build up and strengthen believers in their daily walk with Christ. While we follow the regulative principle of worship, we strive to make our worship joyful. Because we encourage families to worship together, we have become accustomed to children’s noises, and rejoice when we hear our children sing and recite a confession at the top of their lungs.

Our Mission

Our mission is to faithfully proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, for it alone is the power of God unto salvation. As such, we welcome any and all to worship with us. Additionally, we believe the mission of the church is to build up and strengthen God’s people to serve Him in their callings during the week.

Pastor Ted Lester felt called to plant a Reformed Presbyterian church in Woodstock, and we began meeting as a Bible study in 2009. In 2010, we began holding Sunday morning worship services at the Cherokee County Parks and Recreation Annex, located north of downtown Woodstock. After almost three years of being a missional church plant, we became a particularized congregation in 2013. In 2019, Pastor Lester retired, and we called our current pastor, Job Dalomba, who started in 2020. Since that time, God has been faithful to provide us with a permanent place to worship and opportunities to minister to the community where He called us.

We offer youth Sunday School for children aged 4 through high school. We also have adult Sunday School. For more information, please visit our Church Life page.

We have a men’s and a ladies’ Bible study during the week. We also offer two small-group Bible studies. For more information, please visit our Church Life page.

For the final 20 minutes of our adult Sunday School, we spend time in prayer.

In addition to small groups and Bible studies, we have a first Sunday fellowship luncheon. Additionally, some of the men meet together for fellowship on a monthly basis.

While we encourage (and are patient with) parents to include their children in our time of worship, we do provide a nursery for up to 3 years in age. We have church members, often husbands and wives, as part of our team of nursery volunteers. For each volunteer, we perform a background check and take steps to ensure the safety of each child in our care.
